Dan Metlana Mashitisho has been appointed director-general of the Department of Water and Sanitation, effective January 3. Mashitisho brings a wealth of experience in senior management, particularly in the public sector. His most recent employment was at Mogale City municipality where he served as the city manager, a position he held since 2006. Mashitisho served in the same capacity at Merafong local municipality and has held numerous positions in local government over the past 22 years.
