Despite the unpredictable economic and political environment, the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry’ (Sacci’) Business Confidence Index (BCI) picked up by 1.7 index points to 94.9 in June, from 93.2 in May, showing the resilience and perseverance of local business. However, the BCI was still 0.2 index points below the June 2016 level of 95.1.
