South African Revenue Service (Sars) Commissioner Tom Moyane on Friday disputed Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan’s assertion that there was a tax collection shortfall of over R30-billion which had contributed to the budget deficit. Instead, Monyane accused his boss, Gordhan, of interfering in the running of Sars, to the point of even granting leave to subordinates. He also said he was hurt when the minister refused to shake his hand and he felt that he was being treated like a child.
