South Africa's trade balance swings to a R8.6bn deficit in August

South Africa’s trade balance unexpectedly swung to R8.56-billion deficit in August from a revised R5.04-billion surplus in July, data from the national revenue agency showed on Friday. Exports decreased 5.5% to R90.235-billion on a month-on-month basis, while imports rose 9.2% to R98.736-billion, the South African Revenue Service said.
